Hiking on Lesvos

Hiking on Lesvos is always an adventure. There is so much to see and so much to enjoy that we strongly recommend experiencing the authentic Lesvos while hiking through its countryside. DiSa-Travel have put together some beautiful and interesting walks - short and long – in different regions of the island. Hiking on Lesvos is possible at any time of the year – all seasons have their beauty – only during the very hot summer days of July and August you would probably be best advised to leave your hiking boots behind and enjoy the sea.

Our hikes lead you through unspoilt countryside, through shady pine forests, to beautiful beaches and to places with fantastic views. DiSa-Travel shows you local and sometimes unique flora and fauna, beautiful villages, churches and monasteries, tavernas with tasty local food, and all the little secret places that we know from the local people. During our hikes we try to show you as many facets of the authentic island of Lesvos as possible. We hope that you will enjoy it as we do.

The tracks on Lesvos are rarely marked and sometimes difficult to find. Lesvos appears more like an untamed beauty. Depending on the season of the year some paths might be overgrown and a bit wild. Therefore, we recommend proper hiking boots, sun protection and always make sure that you have some water in your backpack. You can find further recommendations (like long trousers for some hikes) at the description for the respective hike.

We usually meet you at an easy to find and central location. However, if you want a pick-up from your accommodation DiSa-Travel will be happy to organize this. If you have any special requests or if you are interested in different arrangements, we can be flexible and will gladly discuss any options.

Last but not least: we recommend for all hikers that you ensure you have travel insurance that covers private health and/or accident insurance for this activity, since DiSa-Travel cannot accept any liability in this respect.  The EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) covers you only for medical care at the same level as local people, which is not the same as you would have at home.
